December 2011

November 2011

• Having more remixes done for the new single HEY GIRL, which will be released prior to the OUTSIDE album.
• Album release set to be late February/early March 2012
• I/O desgin are currently working on the album and single artwork
• We're currently looking for a label to release the new album

September 2011

• New album complete, songs are being sent off for mastering and demos are being sent to record companies
• Amanda Fraser has kindly donated one of her brilliant pieces of artwork for the new CD cover, check her work HERE - we feel that her journey in art equals our journey in music.

August 2011

• Well August was great in some ways. We've been at a different Festival each weekend during August. Must say the last one 25.-29. 08. was very cold at nights...
• That's probably the reason why we didn't get much music done. Recovering now.

July 2011

• The new EP "BEYOND THE BLUE" is now out on Vertikal Records, available exclusively on BEATPORT
• Have just seen an almost finished video for the song PLAIN-SAILING from the new album and although we all frooze our butts off - the video came out very nice, thanks to director Robert B. !!
• Successfully survived Sunrise Celebration and Glastonbury festivals. Two more to come in August.
• New Album >Outside< finally taking shape. We have two guest singers on two songs: Joe Osei from Ghana and Joseph Plummer from Jamaica. Sönke sings one song, too but the rest is of course reserved for Sue :-)
• We had a video shoot for one of the new songs and as usual it was the coldest day of the summer.

May 2011

• Yeah, we missed April. Have been a little too busy to update this column.
• May news include: We're still mixing songs for the new album and are working on several videos at the same time - they are videos for the new songs for YouTube etc...
• The CURFEW MEETS ISSGAARD album is going to be released on Friday May 20.

March 2011

• Is this going to be the fastest ever year? Mid March already. But the answer is NO. Next year: 2012 will be even faster - until 21 Dec 2012 that is. After that we are in for some serious slow down time!
• 4-Track EP is making good progress and so far the song BEYOND THE BLUE is my favorite. We also have one with some serious Banjo playing from 'Dog Daisys' Mark Kennedy. The other two will be finished at the end of the month.
• We are also trying to finish all the outstanding work for the new album OUTSIDE during April.
• The release date for the CmI album THE TRIP has been set for: 20 MAY 2011 !!
• Sönkes other project BLACK|WHITE is gathering momentum again as well, because singer Steve Dallaway has returned to London after an almost 1 year stint in Trinidad.
• And finally: some CURFEW acoustic concerts will resume in the Summer with a few festival appearances in the UK (details closer to the time).

February 2011

• We are currently working on a 4-Track EP for Plusquam Records in Munich/Germany - will have it finished by the end of Feb, but not sure when it's going to be released.
• The album THE TRIP which we have done with ISGAARD is now completely finished and we are getting the artwork done now. Also have a CmI MySpace page now to which we'll upload some short music samples, soon.
• OUTSIDE is still in the making and yes the album will come out at some point in 2011 :-)

• Spending some time in the US, meeting some people and over in California escaping the cold and snow of London - unfortunately have to be back in January. Until then.... c- ya!

November 2010

• Quite a busy time at the moment. Putting the finishing touches to the OUTSIDE album, re-mixing a few songs for some friends and more acoustic gigs scheduled for this month.
• CmI news: We had a brief meeting in Germany in October and have decided to release the album (The Trip) in February 2011, but as I see the things developing I will remain doubtful!!!
• Next update will come from LA in CA during December

October 2010

• OK another month gone. I really don't know what happened this year, because suddenly it's almost over and we are in 2011. Well perhaps that just means we had a great year and a good time ...
• September finally saw us doing a lot more work on the new album and it's all coming together quite nicely at the moment. We have decided not to put a release date yet, because we want to wait and see whether we can get some interest from other labels, too.
• Acoustic gigs are getting better all the time and we now have Lucas Simon with us to play additional guitar. The first ChillCoustiC went really well and there will be more. The next one being on Nov 18th 2010 at Zenith Bar - so hope to see you there, if not before.

September 2010

• August.... what a month it was!
• We got the acoustic gigs under way, which were really well received. So far two more planned for September.
• The "CCTV" video is finished and it looks really cool. I better get a move on and finish the other tracks for the album (August was pretty quiet in that department). -Stacy, the director, has uploaded the video to her vimeo page, click here to see it: CCTV on Vimeo
• CmI: we mixed most of the album in Hamburg during August (see pic below) and I can't stop listening to the songs - they are absolutely fantastic. One more to be completed in the London studio. We're now looking for serious promotion for a possible release date in November.

August 2010

• August is upon us and that also means the summer will eventually come to an end. I can already feel it, sometimes we have Autumn in the air and it's getting darker earlier again.
• Our first acoustic gig went really well and we are looking forward to playing many more (see right).
• Songs for the new album OUTSIDE are making progress, although In August we're trying to get the "CmI" album finished, before work on OUTSIDE continues.

July 2010

• June went by real quick again, but that might be due to the fact that we went to two festivals: Sunrise Celebration & Glastonbury and of course there was the football World-Cup to negotiate in-between.
• The CmI video (Snowflakes in June) is near to completion and Sönke will be in Germany in August, mixing the album at "Art of Music Studio"
• Acoustic Demo CD completed and the songs have been uploaded to our new myspace profile: www.myspace.com/curfewacoustic

June 2010

• Oh wow - it's June already...
• All I can report is steady progress with everything, mostly the new album and the acoustic gigs/rehearsals as well the the CmI album.
• Apart from that - summer season looks like it will be busy

May 2010

• April was quite eventful. Some serious work has gone into the new album and will continue so through May (please see the Album Blog page for up to date progress)
• Sönke will be spending a few days away for the shooting of the "Snowflakes in June" Video for the upcoming CURFEW meets ISGAARD album.
• No news on the CURFEW acoustic gigs front, progress is very slow, but hopefully we'll be able to play a few gigs for you during the summer months. But on the up-side of things, looks like there's a Cello player for us now :-)
• The INSIDE - Remixes & Edits single promotion went well, thanks to all the DJs who are supporting the release and of course to Clem!

April 2010

• Sue and Sönke have started recording vocals for the songs on the new album - all going well and we think the OUTSIDE album is going to be gr8 !
• Acoustic rehearsals well under way, too but it seems impossible to find a cello player..
• Please also follow us on TWITTER and keep checking the MySpace and FaceBook profiles for daily updates and news.
• The INSIDE video got to #2 on the MTV sponsored OurStage website during March, but the voting system was very strange and we gave up on it. BUT thanx to everyone who did try.

March 2010

• Some big steps towards the new Album have been taken during Feb. Most of the songs are in a 25% finished state (some completely finished, ready to mix), the artwork has been discussed and sessions with singers and other musicians have been booked
• We'll start rehearsals for the acoustic (and un-plugged) gigs this month and hope to play live next month or May at the latest
• The INSIDE video has been received very well with a good number of 'hits' on YouTube as well as on other channels

February 2010

• The INSIDE video is now available either check the homepage or go to YouTube where you will also find Sönkes visual version of THE OLD MAN AND THE SEA from the Inside album!! N-JOY
• Sönke and Sue Ballingall are getting together this month to work out the songs for the OUTSIDE album
• Joseph recorded vocals for one song of the OUTSIDE album
• The line-up for the CURFEw acoustic gigs is complete and rehearsals for the gigs are starting at the end of February - gigs to follow!!

2009:

December 09

• November was busy, on the last weekend in Nov the filming for the INSIDE video happened and we had a lot of fun doing it, (see some pictures HERE \ ).
• Furthermore more details have been put in place for an acoustic gig - for 2010
• And the new single "INSIDE remixes & edits" has been received very well with some airplay on radio stations worldwide.

November 09

• The INSIDE Remixes&Edits CD is finally done, (wow!!) buy it here: \ CD_BABY \
• We are currently making the Music-Video for the RADIO EDIT for INSIDE. Filming will commence soon and the Vid should be ready by the end of November. If you wanna be in the film as an extra, please get in touch, we are looking for x-tras!

September 09

• All the re-mixes for the INSIDE re-mix CD are now ready and we are looking for sponsors for the mastering of the CD, please e-mail us if you can donate five or ten UKpounds (in return for a free finished CD, of course).

August 09

• oh... and 3 new songs been written for the OUTSIDE album - so all the songs for the album are complete now and after the holiday it's arranging, recording and mixing them - hope to get it all done by the end of the year :-)

July 09

June 09

• Some great progress with the INSIDE single. Black|White have submitted their remix and DJ RandyJ is doing a dance-floor version, exiting. The artwork is also coming along (but slowly)
• The work with ISGAARD is going well and I've submitted 15 songs so far. We will sit down soon and record her voice and orchestra bits (and whatever else is needed) and start mixing by the end of summer.

May 09

• OMG it's May now. Not sure what happened in April. All I can remember is a horrible coach trip to Berlin, well the gig and time Berlin made up for the coach-trip though. And going over to Germany again for discussions on the latest project "Curfew meets Isgaard".

April 09

• CURFEW will happen in Berlin though and on Easter Sunday we'll play a "super-chill-set" on the Altar in TheaterKapelle. See links for the BLEEPFEST on the right.

March 09

• February was a strange month. The BlackWhite album got finished (see projects) and we've started working with Isgaard in Germany, to co-write & co-produce her new album.

2008:

• CURFEW to appear on BBC Radio 6
• The BBC Newsround special about knife crime amongst kids (with a CURFEW soundtrack) has been nominated for a BAFTA award
• CURFEW @ Bleepfest with a chill-out set.
